Objective
The objective of the membership department of the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce is to continuously improve the benefits and services offered to members of the Chamber and to increase total membership in the organization.

The membership department is comprised of several components. They each have a distinct function and are coordinated through a staff liaison.

Membership Sales
The Manager of Member Services is responsible for membership sales. He is accountable for recruiting new members, retaining current members, and informing prospects and current members of the many benefits, services, and advantages of Chamber membership.

The Chamber currently has over 800 members and is continuing to grow.

Benefits and Services
There are several benefits and services offered exclusively to Chamber members. The benefits include the Chamber's group health insurance plan, networking opportunities, advertising opportunities, seminars, as well as sponsorship opportunities.

Members Services Committee
The Members Service Committee assists staff in formulating and evaluating member benefits and services. The committee also calls on individuals and businesses that are late paying dues in order to retain them as members of the Chamber. The committee continuously reviews the needs of Chamber Members and monitors the Chamber's Member-to-Member Discount Program.

Ambassador Committee
The Ambassador Committee serves as the official hosts and customer service representatives for the Chamber. They create goodwill, promote retention, and serve as links between the business community and the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce.

The committee members are all volunteers. They assist in various Chamber events, such as:
Ribbon Cuttings
Eye Opener Breakfasts
Chamber's annual golf outing
