1. New Business Contacts - One of our most important benefits of membership is networking. The Chamber provides programs and opportunities such as the monthly Eye Opener Program and Business Expo, mixers, ribbon cuttings, golf outings, special events, an annual Membership Directory and Buyer's Guide, and business classes and seminars for you to network with those business representatives who need your products or services.
2. Insurance - The Chamber offers an excellent connection to group health insurance. We also have discount programs for Chamber Members on Workers' Compensation, Commercial Auto, Liability and Business Property Insurance and a discount program for employees for home and auto coverage.
3. Business Counseling Services - The Chamber's Business Store is available to assist new and existing firms with services such as business plan development and general counseling provided by staff, SBDC (Small Business Development Center) councilors and volunteer professionals.
4. Legislative Action - The Chamber advocates on behalf of the business community and keeps you informed on key legislative issues affecting your business through Rap with Reps, and our monthly newsletter.

7. Awards - The ATHENA™ Award is presented annually to a local business or professional woman to recognize, encourage and celebrate the achievements of women in business. We also present the Small Business of the Year Award. We work with partners to present The Randall Brock Memorial Award and the Nonprofit Excellence Award. The Harley Simmons Award is presented annually by the Battle Creek Chamber Foundation Silent Observer Committee to recognize an individual who has significantly contributed to the safely and security of citizens in the Battle Creek area.

Information and Assistance - The Chamber keeps you informed on local business issues and in touch with other members through publications such as the newsletter, Chamber television shows on AccessVision, and the Membership Directory/Buyers' Guide. The Chamber also maintains a business library including city directories, buyers' guides, demographic material, city/county maps and many other information sources, which are available to members at no charge. Newcomer information and relocation packets are also available.
