Silent
Observer offers citizens the opportunity to provide police with
vital information - yet remain anonymous. Silent Observers can
receive rewards of up to $5,000 for providing information leading
to the arrest of individuals, who are later bound over for trial.
The
Fugitive of the Month Program, run collaboratively with the Michigan
State Police 5th District Fugitive Team, features a "Wanted
Fugitive" whose capture requires public assistance. The Battle
Creek Enquirer cosponsors the program by matching the Silent
Observer Committee's rewards. The maximum reward level is $1,000.00
dollars. To date, this program has featured 116
fugitives and 110 have been captured.
