BCN
introduces deductible plans 11/12/04
The recent introduction of Blue Care Network deductible plans
gives groups more flexibility in selecting affordable, quality
HMO coverage. BCN's deductible plans allow you to offer your
group members BCN benefits, all its value-added programs and
the largest HMO network of providers and hospitals in the
state but at less cost.
For
groups with 99 or fewer enrolled contracts, there are three
plan options offering varying deductibles and co-payments.
With
deductibles, for certain services your group members will
need to meet their deductible before BCN will pay for health
care. BCN coverage includes a maximum amount for each member
on the contract and a maximum amount for the family. For many
of the services with cost sharing, out-of-pocket maximums
protect members from catastrophic medical expenses.
Deductibles
are structured so your members get important preventive screenings
and immunizations as covered benefits. Maternity care, behavioral
and substance abuse services, laboratory, durable medical
equipment and prosthetics and orthotics are also excluded
from the deductible. (Normal co-payments apply.)
Co-payments
are collected by the doctor, pharmacist, hospital or other
provider when members seek services. Co-payments can be either
a set dollar amount or a percentage of the cost of treatment.
If
you've considered health coverage out-of-reach, take a look
at these new, lower-cost options.
