This
unique downtown festival celebrating Battle Creek's cereal heritage
is a one-of-a-kind breakfast event that draws hundreds of thousands
of people to downtown Battle Creek. Established in 1956 as part of
Kellogg Company's Golden Jubilee the festival has become and annual
Battle Creek tradition. Kellogg Company, Ralston Foods, and Post Division
of Kraft Foods with the help of local and national sponsors serve
over 60,000 people each year. Over 600 volunteers participate and
serve the complimentary breakfast.
The Cereal Festival also features a variety of activities including;
the Grand Parade the night before, the Family Y-Center/Cereal City
Classic 5K, 10K and Family Fun Walk, Empty Bowl Fundraiser, Emergency
Preparedness Exhibit, Children's activities at Cereal City USA,
an Arts and Crafts show at Kellogg Arena and much more.
